[University of Bolton brief] To design a set of black and white road signs for: Ant Farm, Paratrooper Landing, Red Light District and Botanical Gardens. The road signs had to be images rather than text.
Ant Farm... Ants follow the scent of their leader. They walk in a straight line and an organised manner to gather materials and food for their nest. This was the reason I drew my ants in straight lines going in both directions in and out of the diamond sign.
Paratrooper Landing... X [a target] marks the spot, plus a jist of a parashute.
Red Light District... a very obvious response.
Botanical Gardens... a very simple flower, I didn't want to overcomplicate the design.
